Here we are half way thru October. we have finally come into Autumn. the colors in our area is brilliant. the nights are beginning to drop into the 30's on some nights which is what the trees need for color. Days are anywhere between high 40's and up to low 60's. Today the sun is shinning and everything looks alive. Finished Apples and now looking at some after frost pears. well maybe, they have taken a break and are smaller this year. my ancient grape vine needs picking too. Guess it is nice the Pear tree & grapes are better after the frost when you have every thing else in. Unfortunately my trees still did not go to much color. 2nd yare here and these maples do ?or have not turned. oh well I can look across the fields and see blazing colors from the maple syrup orchard.
If you remember my chickens pray they are safe from the weasel this year. I have one of the 12 who became a rooster. He, Peaceful, so far has not hurt the hens so I will let him stay as long as he does not tear their sides up. My old rooster Kansas is still running the outside of the pen. He is getting older but still feels its his job to watch over the flock. The chicks, have now become 3 hens, three are giving pullet eggs. The eggs much smaller than you will see in the stores. So hooray for Esther the Leghorn, Liberty the Aracuna, and Lil'Rock the Bard Rock. Yes I have named them all. waiting on the rest to mature to egg laying. it will be hard to tell unless we see these in the nest because all the rest of the eggs will be brown. Right now I get three, a white one, a army green one & a brown one. if I see another in a nest laying I will fill you in on the rest of the names.
Well I hit on more than the weather today, but right now it is 56 at 3:25. What does it look like in your area today?
Be blessed and be a blessing
