The Beatitudes are written in layers, when you first read them they become a calling of an evangelical nature, all proclaiming no one will be left out. They call out to us to see how Jesus views these qualities and has blessings for each.
Then later on your journey, you read them again and discover they are of discipleship nature, you are to acquire each one in your personal walk. and the scriptures open up in a different way, expanding the ways of a Believer following Jesus.
In the future the words foretell our inheritance, how we come in line with the Beatitudes through the power of the Holy Spirit, gaining all blessing, even the last ones, thru persecutions.
We indeed are to be the salt of the earth.
