Good morning ~
Yesterday, our temp hit 93. So after checking the weather and finding out it was going to be much cooler for about a week, starting today, my canning project got moved to today. We are currently at 56 (wind out of the north), with lots of sunshine. Of course, the rapid drop in temperature set off a round of storms. Fortunately, I don’t think any developed into full blown tornadoes. We received heavy rain, with lots of lightning, hail & wind.
I really need a big bucket of energy! Anyway, today’s agenda looks like more laundry, pineapple salsa and chicken for supper.
Mary, I hope you are feeling much better. Are you enjoying your new home? Keeping Jim in my prayers as he returns to work.
Keep an eye on things today, gals. It’s 5/5 and that may be significant. Just saying. It has certainly been hinted that 5/5 would be a marker.
Prayers!

Hi Cheryl, And all you wonderful people.
Today is our cold day also. It was a beautiful weekend in the high 60's and even reaching 70 for an hour or two. Doesn't it amaze you how we can have such different temp in our areas. 56 to me is a good day :) But today it was 35 when I got up. Presently 42 and only getting as high as 45 for 2 hrs today. Seems like this week is going to be cooler than last week staying in the low 40's to 50. nights even falling to 27 brrrr. Next week we should see the 60's back again. Cant complain much about it as we had a very mild winter this year, in which I am ever so grateful.
Energy??? what is that Cheryl? Maybe I aught to grab some of it myself, sounds like a miracle drug :) Today I also have laundry and hope to clean out one of my overstocked cupboards. I also need to plant some seeds for indoor starts which I should have done 2 weeks ago.
We are doing well this far. God has shield us in His Love & protected us. We go out together maybe once a week and are careful. We do follow the rules and ware masks and stay away from high traffic areas. Jim is having a bit of problems keeping the men at the shop at social distancing. They want to get closer than he does. But of course he is in the over 60 ballpark and they are for the most parts younger. He comes home and goes straight to the shower and tries his best to protect me. He is doing the 12 1/2 hrs now. 10:30am-11pm. makes it hard on us, but pray for the manager who set the time frame. This is only for the month of May, we are told. However, it will be nice to have 3 1/2 days off starting Thursday at 3pm. I have to admit with him gone these hours gave me a lot of time to finish my basic duties around the house, my being slower these days.
We love the house and with the covid it sure was nicer to be out by ourselves and not close to anyone. We have many project around here and Jim is still clearing out his abundance at the old house before we have to remodel some things. Praying we will not have it going into the next winter. having 2 expenses is not the best idea. WE transplanted rose bushes and climbers this weekend. They were in places that did not prospers them in abundant blooms, so we moved them to full sun. The previous owners had a green thumb before the person we bought from. Flowers all around the house that come up yearly. So we are grateful for that, just making it our own now with what we feel looks right in places.
Last year we seen an abundance of grasshoppers so we are trying to get some Indian runner ducks to help lower the production. But we started looking late. I hope I can find some soon before the baby hoppers emerge.
I have not heard about the 5/5 ideas. but I do have my eyes open.
Good chatting with you this morning Cheryl , pineapple salsa sounds wonderful, Having soup for dinner tonight. Keeping it simple and giving Jim a hot bowl when he gets home. have to plan on buying some soup thermoses now that he does not get to use the microwave anymore. (we do not have one at home but it was handy for him to heat up his lunches at work)
Linda, Anney, Hookangel, Mammadee I hope you all are having a wonderful day as well. How's the weather in your areas?
Be Blessed

Good morning everyone!! Yes I'm squeaking in here before noon, so it's still morning! ha!
Our weather here is cloudy and overcast right now. It is still muggy feeling. We had a bit of rain go through early this morning. We had Cheryl's high temps yesterday nearly reaching 90 in some place. I"m not a fan of the hot weather and never look forward to it.
This weekend is a promised cold front with possible record lows on Friday and Saturday night...I"m praying it will happen!! That would be my Momma Day present from the Lord!
We are doing well here. As you know I have the girls here, so we are doing homeschooling per the school district. I think this will be last week. The local school board had initially asked to end the school year when the Covid 19 virus hit Arkansas but Dept of Education for Arkansas denied them. So the teachers scrambled and put together weekly lessons called AMI packets. It was very scatter brained. I've substituted tons of lessons from free online sources.
We've set up the extra bedroom as "the classroom". The girls have always wanted me to homeschool and now they have their wish!
Allen is doing ok with all the Covid 19. He keeps up with the news of it all, so that bothers me to hear it constantly running in the background on the TV. His obsession is mowing the yard, some days he wants to mow even tho he mowed only two days ago. His memory is very, very, very short. His behaviors are controlled with medications but I am seeing some side effects that are bothering him. I'd like to take him off the behavior meds but am leery as I don't know how he would act. I don't think I could deal with him acting out badly especially with the girls here.
Gosh, pineapple salsa sounds amazing Cheryl!! I will look that recipe up and see if we would like it. We are sort on a pineapple eating kick right now. I guess our bodies are requiring something in it!
OK, I need to get off here and get some lunch for the girls....they are eating me out of house and home!
Praying for you all!
Blessings
