Today is our anniversary. Jim and i are trying to make it special seeing we are still stay in place and it had now rained for 24 hrs expecting to rain for another 18. The rain is coning steady and hard. no light moments. our cricks are now ponds. the cowfield is a pond. the farm field is a pond that runs into the corner of our yard taking out the whole corner running into a ditch that feeds the pond on the end of our land. That pond has now overflowed its banks and has taken out the side of our yard by 30 plus feet. we have now a lake. Our house sits on a hill so we are dry. But I feel we have lakefront property. everywhere I look is large bodies of water. Also was just told, it is washing out the road in front of our home. wow. The wind has been whistling since early last night. a steady 22 MPH with gust in the 40's. It reminds me of a old movie in the winter when you hear the whistling sounds.
I made the Dandelion Jelly. it does taste like honey. I only used 6 sugars when it called for 8 and it jelled pretty easily. it does taste like honey. I tried to use a sugar free sweetener to one batch and I ended up adding a little sugar , I think that may be more runny like tick syrup. but taste is good. Now I know. the batch of dandelions I picked made me enough tea for 3 more batches when I pick up some more sure-gel and sugar. I jarred them and set them in the fridge for today. so much for my first time.
To make our day special we are putting together a puzzle and sharing memories of our life together. 1 memory for every year we have been married. Now this is a mind exercise! Well my hubby is finished bring in some wood for the fireplace. drenched, the wood was in a dry spot but he had to get it. He is drenched. I will say so long for today. talk again another time. Share how you day have been. God bless
