cont: "AT HIS FEET".
Some things in this world are known to be dazzling, like diamonds or fireworks , but nothing's as mesmerizing or glorious as the face of JESUS. Keeping our eyes on the Lord Jesus helps set life in order.
Jesus visited people in homes throughout preaching God's Word where ever HE went. The LORD values relationships. (Did you know that?) He wants you to enjoy spending one-on-one time with Him. He
understands our "Good intentions," even though we should have more respect toward the Lord, it can become counterproductive and defeating if not kept in balance. Have YOU " like me" ever become so involved in what you wanted to do for someone that you got " drawn away" from the very person you wanted help?
John 1:14 says, " The Word became flesh, and among us; and we saw His glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth".
In what ways does this phrase or verse relate to your own experience of Christ Jesus?
It's wonderful to be with someone you love. How does that make you feel?
At times Jehovah God isn't looking for us to eliminate a pastime or interest but just wants us to reassess our attitude toward it.
" In the story of Mary and Martha, Jesus was showing us that they had a choice. They could sit at His feet and take in all that he wanted them to know and have, or you could be running around in circles complaining about (poor you) having to do stuff. (Remember, that choice was made because the stuff seemed to be more important than what Jesus had to offer).
The true joy of abiding love can make us feel as though we need nothing else, nothing.
" Walking by the SPIRIT "
" LEARNING TO WALK TAKES PRACTICE ".
The more steps a toddler takes, the more proficient he or she becomes, until walking becomes a second nature, normal part of life.
This same principle is true spiritually. When we are first saved, our steps are small and uncertain, but as we practice and mature in Christ, walking by the Spirit becomes a normal and essential part of our life. The first step in walking by the Spirit is to be fully persuaded that we can't live the Christian life by human effort. Until we grasp this truth, we'll rely on our own strength, repeatedly failing, and finding ourselves
confessing the same old sins without ever mastering them.
The second step is to recognize that the HOLY SPIRIT is the one who overcomes our sinful desires and gives us victory as we rely on HIS power. The way to do this is by asking the Spirit to help us understand God's Word and will. We also pray that He'll give us a sense of revulsio0n at sin in our life and infuse us with a desire to know, love, and obey Christ more each day. Our goal should be that when temptation
comes our w3ay, we surrender to the Spirit and do what He desires step-by-step.
JUST REMEMBER YOU CAN CHANGE IF YOU REALLY WANT TO AND YOU WILL UNDERSTAND HIS WORD MORE AND MORE EACH DAY...
"DON'T QUIT, NO-MATTER HOW LONG IT TAKES YOU TO WIN THE RACE, YOUR NOT ALONE"...
