OUR DAILY BREAD: READ, (Philippians 4:7, and Galatians 5:16-25).
"THE LIFE OF PEACE".
In Perth, Australia, there's a place called Shalom House where men struggling with addictions go to find help. At Shalom House, they'll meet caring staff members who introduce them to God's shalom (Hebrew for peace). Lives crushed under the weight of addictions to drugs, alcohol, gambling, and other destructive behaviors are being transformed by the love of God. PEACE ISN'T MERELY THE ABSENCE OF CONFLICT; IT'S THE PRESENCE OF GOD'S WHOLENESS. As the HOLY SPIRIT operates in our lives, He generates His fruit that includes love, joy, patience, and more (Gal.5:22,23). As the HOLY SPIRIT enables us to live in God's shalom, we learn to bring our needs and concerns to our heavenly Father. This in turn brings us " the peace of God, which transcends all understanding"-the peace that "will guard (our) hearts and (our) minds in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:7). In Christ's Spirit, our hearts experience true shalom.
So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
The acts of the flesh are obvious: " sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I WARN YOU, as I did before, that those who live like this WILL NOT inherit the kingdom of God.
But the FRUIT of THE SPIRIT is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.
You don't need to fully understand God's ways, for no one can (Isaiah 55;8-9). WE ONLY NEED TO HUMBLE OURSELVES , TRUST JEHOVAH GOD FULLY, and REVERE HIM.
GOD SEES HER: READ, (Galatians 6:1-10).
"When We're Weary"
Recently I sent a prayerfully thought-out email meant to encourage a friend, only to have it met with an angry response. My immediate reaction was a mixture of hurt and anger. "How could I be so misunderstood"?
Before I responded, I remembered that we won't always see positive results when we tell someone that Jesus loves them. When we do good things for others- hoping to draw them to HIM-they may spur us. Our gentle, encouraging efforts may be ignored. Galatians 6 is a good place to turn when we're discouraged by someone's response to our sincere efforts. Paul encourages us to consider our motives- to "test our actions"-for what we say and do (vv 1- 4). When we have done so, he encourages us to persevere: "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people" (vv9-10).
Jehovah God wants us to continue living for HIM, WHICH INCLUDES PRAYING FOR AND TELLING OTHES ABOUT HIM-"doing good". HE WILL SEE TO THE RESULTS.
