SOMETIMES, WHEN WE WAKE UP, OUR EYEs SEEM TO BE LOOKING THROUGH "FOG". UNTIL WERE TOTALLY AWAKE and THINGS CLEAR UP, WE CANNOT BEGIN TO SEE ACURATELY WHAT IS RIGHT IN FRONT OF US.
IT'S LIKE " CAN'T SEE THE FOREST for THE TREE's".
"WHEN MORNING COMES" (Read Hebrew 11:1-8);
I was very late when we stopped for the night at a country inn outside of Munich. We were delighted that our cozy room had a balcony, although an oppressive fog made it impossible to see anything. But when the sum rose a few hours later, the haze faded. Then we could see what had been shrouded earlier-an idyllic scene- peaceful and lush green meadow, sheep grazing, and fluffy white clouds in the sky.
Sometimes life can get clouded over by a heavy fog of despair. Our situation may look so dark that we may begin to lose hope. But just as the sun burns away a fog, our faith in God Jehovah can burn away the haze of doubt.
Hebrews 11 defines faith as "confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see" (v. 1). The passage goes on to remind us of the faith of NOAH, who was "warned about things not yet seen", yet obeyed God Jehovah (v.7).
Although we have not seen HIM and cannot always feel HIS presence, God Jehovah is always present and will help us through our darkest nights, our darkest hours.
"HOW GOD JEHOVAH REVEALS HIMSELF also WHERE GOD's WRATH and LOVE MEET" (Charles Stanley, In Touch) (READ Romans 1:16-21, and 3:21-26).
MANY PEOPLE TODAY DENY THE EXISTENCE OF GOD JEHOVAH.
But the reason is suppression of the truth, not a lack of evidence. Because the Lord Jesus loves mankind, He has revealed Himself in several ways. We know God Jehovah through..............
HIS CREATION: (Roman1:20).
By observing the celestial bodies, the earth with its plants and creatures, and the laws of the universe, we must conclude that there is a Creator- such intricate design doesn't happen accidentally. The order, balance, and beauty speak loudly of a wise GOD who is powerful and generous.
OUR CONSCIENCE (v.19).
Because we're created in HIS image, He's designed the human being with an inner alarm system to provide a general sense of good and evil. That's an excellent start, but GOD expects us to continually "upgrade" the conscience as we learn more about HIS ways. Otherwise, worldly thinking can override its original guidelines.
HIS WORD (vv. 16-17).
While conscience and creation point to the LORD, it usually takes more to bring us to a saving knowledge of HIM. That is why GOD has given us HIS written WORD- and ultimately HIS SON ( Hebrew 1:2-3).
With ample evidence of GOD's power, character, and salvation, there is NO excuse for doubting HIS existence and love for us.
UNTIL WE LEARN TO SEE SIN AS GOD JEHOVAH DOES, IT'S DIFFICULT to understand what happened at CHRIST's crucifixion.
God Jehovah holy and just, and Scripture tells us that HIS response to sin is wrath and punishment (Roman 1:18; 6:23). Yet HE also loves sinners and wants to be reconciled with them. The cross was the perfect answer to this terrible dilemma. It was the place where GOD' wrath and love met.
The only way to rescue fallen mankind from eternal punishment was to devise a plan whereby the LORD could forgive sins without compromising HIS holiness. HIS wrath had to be poured out on a suitable substitute, the perfect Son of GOD JEHOVAH.
So JESUS suffered HIS FATHER's wrath for us as HE hung on the cross. Sin was punished, divine justice was satisfied, and GOD JEHOVAH could forgive sinners-all in accordance with HIS character. HIS wrath was poured out on HIS SON so HIS love and forgiveness could be lavished upon us.
WE'LL NEVER be able to UNDERSTAND all that happened while JESUS hung on the cross. Although we can to a certain degree comprehend the physical suffering HE endured, CHRIST bore so much more: the very wrath of GOD JEHOVAH. This costly redemption plan proves the Father's great love for us.
THOUGHT; "COULD YOU EVER DO WHAT CHRIST JESUS DID FOR US".
IT'S LIKE " CAN'T SEE THE FOREST for THE TREE's".
