GOD SEES HER/ READ: (Ephesians 4:11-16)
IT TAKES TIME to GROW ;
"Speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of HIM who is the head, that is, CHRIST".
On he first day in preschool, young Charlotte was asked to draw a picture of herself. Her artwork featured a simple orb for a body, and oblong head, and two circle eyes. On her last day of preschool, Charlotte was again directed to draw a self-portrait. This one showed a little girl in a colorful dress, a smiling face with distinct features, and a cascade of beautiful re tresses. The school was demonstrating the difference time can make in the level of maturity.
We know maturity takes time, but we sometimes grow impatient with ourselves of fellow believers who show slow spiritual growth. The author of Hebrews spoke of this when he wrote to the church:
"Though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of GOD's word all over again" (Hebrew 5::12).
Let's pray for each other and patiently come alongside those who seem to struggle with spiritual growth. "Speaking the truth in love," let's encourage one another to "grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is , Christ" (Ephesians 4:15).
OUR DAILY BREAD/READ: (Psalm 1 and 1:1-2) .
A LIVING DOCUMENT;
"It is my deepest desire for the person who picks up their Bible, whatever version they use, to not only understand but experience the scriptures as living documents, just as relevant, dangerous, and exciting now as they were those thousands of years ago. We face barriers to reading and experiencing Scripture, and not necessarily because of our Bible translation. We may lack time, discipline, or the right tools for understanding. Meditating on Scripture daily allows us to "prosper" in all seasons, no matter what hardship we're facing.
HOW DO YOU VIEW YOUR BIBLE?
It's still relevant with insight for living today, still dangerous in its call to believe and follow Jesus, still exciting in the intimate knowledge of GOD and humanity that it imparts. Today , let's lean in-make time, get the right tools, and ask GOD to help us experience Scriptures as a living document.
Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the LORD, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither-whatever they do prosper.
Not the wicked!
They are like chaff that the wind blows away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, not sinners in the assembly of the righteous. FOR the LORD watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.
In Psalm 1, the way of the righteous and the way of the wicked are described in stark contrast. In contrast, the righteous delight in the law of Jehovah God and are called "Blessed". They're consumed by love for the wisdom of GOD; It occupies their thoughts throughout the day, bringing to mind the command to Joshua to "meditate on it day and night" (Joshua 1:8).
