God had me eat soup for 40 days. i had 1 day a week off, but i added the days at the end to make 40. God did not say i only had to eat soup but i did have to eat it 40days. I completed that assignment and felt it was to learn to be obedient and obey what He said.
As i was closing the 40 days i asked what do you want me to do now??? that very night i was lead to watch a internet program titled "what happens when you eat once a day for 30 days?" by dr. Ekberg. It was real insightful. In the next few days i will try to comeback and share what i learned in my language. So wait for it...... hahaha . ( isn't that what they say LOL) or you can find him on You tube.
Anyways, dear friends, i am doing it. i will explain my journey and pray that this journey will show progresses.

i am doing the eat once a day program. i keep my carbs light most days. but there are days i will include fruit or maybe a small potato. Something that i do not normally have. maybe 2 times a week i could include a little grace.
Also, there are times when you have no choice but to have two meals a day. Like we did two times this weekend. We had a breakfast arrangement already set before i started this plan and the next day a memorial service. So we had 2 meals each day. i was good on my choices when i was out. Praise the Lord for the strength!
i try to eat between 3 & 5:00. A two-hour window. That gives me 20 hours of intermit fasting. i have been doing this for 10 days. i lost 7 lbs on day 5, but gained back 2 after my weekend. But now i have lost the 2 lbs, so i am back to 7 again.
Dr. Ekberg explained intermit fasting so i can grasp how it works and it made sinse. Basically: when you are in your eating window your body stores fat and insulin and boost cortisol, when you are in the fasting window your body burns fat, does not add insulin, and cortisol is stabilized. This is the time your body can heal.
i call this time of intermit fasting simply Healing Time! and when in the eating window, it is simply Fuel Time
If i look at eating as fuel, i want to put good things into it, bad fuel causes problems. Good fuel makes your body run smoothly.
It has not been that hard to eat once a day after learning the obedient channels during my soup for 40 days. It's like that gave me strength to listen to a new plan.
i do try to plan my eating at 3:00, because if i eat at 1:00 i find that i am hungry before i go to bed at night. And waiting to 3:00 is not too hard for me, i generally do not even think food before 1-2pm.
My choice of food comes close to the keto type. low carb selections. i also found that since God healed my IBS i can can eat more salads mixed with some cooked foods. Not by themselves as a big dinner salad alone but alongside of something. Like a piece of meat and vegetable then salad too. I also created a 30 selection of basic meals so i would not have to think too hard on what to eat. i am already prepared. Example would be Tamboli with pecans, (recipe to give you soon) along with a piece of salmon and cooked asparagus. Or once i made a hamburger salad. i browned up 1/2 lb Hamberger with onions and red pepper and put it over a salad with radishes etc. alongside of stuffed eggs. i got creative and began to think out of the box. A salad and omelets works well too. Having them written out in 30 squares makes it easy.
This is my new plan. Let's see if i can maintain it. Over the past few years, it has been a trial and error, mostly error. Somehow, i am still encouraged and pressing forward, this one seems simpler.

Pray for me and i will pray for you to be a success in what God leads you because we all know many problems we have can come from being over our weight limits. so it actually a pursuit of health.
