it has been a while since I have written anything. It has been, & will continue to be, a very busy time for us. I suggest for anyone to move before they are 60 to a place where they want to be when they are older. Because our bodies do not like moving after that. Jim & I knew it would be hard, but felt this is where God wants us to live out our days, so I know He is with us in our endeavor. Our finances are tight as a drum paying for both mortgages right now and January is a long time away before we can get the 401 K to pay this off. The old homestead is still in need of clearing out and repairs. We should have help and are promised help but when the time comes we are doing it alone. Right now it look like we will have to heat two homes all winter. crazy. but with Jim work schedule and my age weakness, we are not moving too fast. Not to mention the house we bought needs a roof (which we knew) but Jim has to bring an unused chimney down. and this is a week or 2 project for him alone without help after working long days. Also we have not finished mowing the grass completely here from the spring high growth. With the heat it has slowed down growing but we still have some areas to conquer. Anyways the new house has needs too, mostly outside, more than we had anticipated to keep it on top of things. It will not be too much when it is all we have, but now with 2 homes it is a struggle.
In the midst of this We are happy here. We feel a peace that was hard to have in the old home in the woods. The old house although close to the Great Lake & sat on a property of over 100 trees. I counted them! After a while you begin to feel closed in, if you are not naturally a woods person. So moving here has been freeing. It is possible that sun deprivation was effecting me more than I thought. There is not much sun when you have so many trees. I do love the new home. The openness of it. It feels right and my Spirit feels lifted. We do have a chicken coop to build, the dog pen they are in is inadequate for long term. So that project is coming soon.
Our plans for the future, As we sell our old home and get the 401k out in January. Freeing up our finances and before Jim Retires: Jim has always wanted a pole barn, he loves to work on cars and he has some in storage that are vintage 1960's. We want to have one built for when he retires to give him a place to do somethings he loves to do. Not to mention he will use it for service for others machinery fixes as a ministry. Jim can fix about anything once he puts his thinking to it. NEXT: We do have 7 acres and the side of our property has much to offer. There is a stream-fed pond and a patch of woods with the stream running through it. we own both sides of the pond & a 3/4th acre patch of woods. There is also high ground over looking the farmlands, pond & woods. Our dream is to put three hermitage cabins out there with the help of our Amish man who builds them. They will be simple with a bed, a table & chair & a compose toilet. One will be set up over looking the pond. The other over looking the woods and the last one to overlook the farmland. A place where people can go and spend time with God. In our busy world with all its demands, people need a quiet spot if their lives do not provide one. There will be no fee for them to use the cabin. A donation of what they can afford will go to building the next one. if no donation that is ok too. The purpose is to seek God in the quiet setting so you are not distracted to hear His direction, or to simply enjoy him.
You are a part of our plans by your prayers. Without prayer coverage it would only be a pipe dream. Your prayers have got us this far and we are grateful. I do not think I would have lasted with out them, God is so generous to us to allow this so late in life. When I was 65 and felt I had waited all my youth and I was too old to be of much service to God. I knew I could serve Him well in prayer but I meant physical things that were still in my heart. Anyways He whispered to me. You still have 30 years to serve. WOW I always felt I would live to be 96 so 30 would give me only 1 year to lay back
In my Bible studies I have some insights that have come to my attention & blessed me, that I feel may be needful to someone.
Who spoke with Abraham, it said he was a friend of God, so did God meet with him?
Who spoke to Moses from the burning bush? Who's finger wrote the commandments?
Who was Melchizedek? it said he had no genealogy, but he was called a King of Salem & a high priest. Salem in translation is Peace & scholars think Salem was Jerusalem.
Who is the King of Peace? The King of Jerusalem?
The Scripture says:
John 1:18 (NKJV)
No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.
John 5:37 (NKJV)
And the Father Himself, who sent Me, has testified of Me. You have neither heard His voice at any time, nor seen His form.
1 John 4:12 (NKJV)
No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us.
Jesus was always there delivering God's Word. He was the Word. Jesus & God are inseparable. When you seen Jesus, You have seen God.
There are many more scriptures to back this up but mostly it is a revelation by Him to you that penetrates your heart knowledge. Its is an awesome revelation to know Who we are following.
Have a blessed day, it has been good to chat with you again, I will try not to be so long before I come back to this place.
It is going to be 88 as the day goes on here. pleasant 70's this morning. How's the weather where you are Linda?
