Do you really believe Tod is in absolute control of everything, or do you think He just rules over some things?
What you believe about the Lord's power and authority in this world will affect how you view your circumstances.
"The Lord is high above all nations: His glory is above the heavens. Who is like the Lord our God, who is enthroned
on high, who humbles Himself to behold the things that are in heaven and in the earth? He raises the poor from the dust
and lifts the needy from the ash heap. (PSALM 113:4-7).

Purity of life and the power of the Holy Spirit go hand in hand.
You cannot separate the two. You cannot have the fullness or the power of
the Holy Spirit exercised through you when you're living in sin.
"The flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh;
for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things
that you please. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
(GALATIONS 5:17-18).
