i want to thank you all for praying for me for the past month as we have delt with our son dying of a heart attack in prison. getting him to a hospital where we could visit him, going and dealing with those who were in charge of his organ donations, seeing him with the ventilator for 2 days. heart wrenching.
Then we left to come back home, they told us they were going to finish tests to see what organs could be donated. when these tests were done then he would go to surgery room, and they said his ventilator would come out, and if he did not breath on his own, they would proceed with the donation surgery. We got the call Palm Sunday morning ay 9am that he died at 1:18am. and he was able to donate 3 organs. Kidneys, liver, and pancreas.
Next we were to wait while the Prison delt with the funeral home and the cremation. We also had to send the prison some money to send Mikes belongs to us. little by little waiting, these things took place over the week,
The following week we waited for the cremation remains to be sent. while we waited, we viewed urns online and finally decided on one and ordered it. We also got a call from the prison saying they were mailing out Mikes belongings. on Friday i was able to secure a place for the memorial gathering on June 9. His birthday was June 8th but i could not get one for that day so we opted for the 9th. We are having it in Ohio where he grew up and a lot of his family is at. we only moved to MI after the kids were grown.
The Urn arrived on Sat April 6 at the same time as the cremation remains. By the same delivery driver.
Waiting now on the belongings to arrive. It was a long process, and it is still waiting to be completed.
Thank you all for your patience and your support. BTW on the same day as the delivery Sat. afterwards we got a call from social security, and they approved our SS for this month. That lightened the day for Jim as he had been wanting to retire but could not turn in his notice until it was approve.
God has been with us all the way. His faithfulness is Love.
