Provision of Food
When i was a single mom with 3 children, there came a time when the cupboards were getting bare, so bare that when a friend dropped by at dinnertime i invited him to stay & eat with us. It was literally our last possible meal. My son was worried and shared his concerns with me privately. i told him not to fret we were suppose to share what we had with others and we all sat down to eat. Of course, no leftovers.
The next morning i fed them the last breakfast & i sent my children off to school. There was nothing left that could be eaten and my children thought they were coming home to no food that night. They had free lunches at school so they would be eating something. I told them before they left, not to worry God would provide.
That afternoon, my mother who lived an hour away cleaned out her cupboards of non-perishable food items. Things she had acquired and would not use. She decided to bring the three medium size boxes out to my home without telling me. (i had not told her of our position) On the way out my father said, "Grace, you cannot take all that stuff out there without some meat & dairy products" so they stopped at a store and added to their gift.
My Parents could not have timed it more perfectly. They arrived about ten minutes before the bus dropped off my children from school. Once we got all the boxes & grocery bags inside, my mom went right to work on putting stuff into the cupboards. Being shocked at the vacancy she turned to me and said, "How come you did not tell me, that you did not have any food?" In which I replied "I didn't have to, I think God told you."
MY children walked in the door and were amazed at what they seen, food going into the cupboards & fridge. Quietly my daughter asked me if I called grandma. I shook my head no. The surprised and happy look on all three young faces was God's blessing to me.
That night we sat down to eat and thanked the Lord for His provision. AND my children learned a valuable lesson about our Father God. He sees & hears and provides for His children.
THAT'S HOW OUR GOD IS! FAITHFULLY CARING & LOVING US
