Good afternoon. I am so sorry I have had such a busy month in September. Since I have moved last May seems like my schedule is off whack and my energy level is low. the house is peaceful but so many outside forces to eat up my hours.
The roof has been in progression for 3 week , what was to be a 4 day job. We still have piles all around the home and ladders to the roof set up on porch. Weather has not been on our workers side, And he may need to prioritize us up the list on good days. It seems I have lived everyday wondering if it will rain or will they come today? limbo!
James has had some struggles and has not been home for over a week, He has been staying with Tamara at the hospital and very little contact with us. He but is kind of still here but not. Wondering what he is going to do. I think he will become her care giver since he knows everything the hospital has spoken about her condition. yet he has not said. limbo
Peter was here and the time was very good although he missed his flight and we had 2 trips two hour (one way) to pick him up. one at midnight and one at 10 am the next day, grateful he made it. This is Peter's 3rd time coming here and we finally got to know him better. He did not go off to his room as much but engaged in the family more. I think he felt more relaxed. He spoke to the church and I am praying they will support his work in India and this turns into a good resource for his ministry over time. We gathered to pray Sunday Night with a few friends here at the home which was a good time getting to know everyone better. Monday morning we was intrigued by the Amish workers. and shared his ministry in India with them. When we left to take him to the Airport, 2 of the men shook his hand and gave him a donation. No one told them , it was of the Holy Spirit working in them too.
Jim's job continues to be stressful. work hours are not permitting him to have any daylight hours off to work on moving or needed thing here or at old house. We will need to have the propane hooked up for the winter there, but he has been working every weekend, no time to get it done. The shop needs to hire workers but they are on a freeze from head office.
Muffin continues to grow older... there is no stopping this process. she turned 14 this month. Eating is always a down side. she has gotten so fussy and I cant read her mind to know what she is expecting. lately she will eat a little fruit and only a bite or two of regular food. I will make her some noodles today. she loves spaghetti and noodles with tomato soup. but if I give it to her every day she will decide NOT TODAY! She sleeps a lot. I GUESS SHE IS DOING WELL FOR BEING 98 & BLIND W/LITTLE HEARING. I am planning on praying her thru a little longer. Just it has become a full time job, she sleeps until I move or need to do some cooking or work, then she is right under my feet being a part of the pack mentality. It is pretty funny when I work on a project she ahs to get her nose right in there to feel like she is helping me, (NOT haha). I have to give her a combing today so pray she will allow it. she has gotten to not like my combing out her matts anymore, I got some detangler to see if that helps , she is not real bad but there are these spots.
Then we had 4 Holy Days this month of Sept.? Oct. Which was some great highlighted moments which I have shared in that Section of the forum. I feel we did not really give Tabernacles the best of what we know now. But I have begun looking for missions work to do next year. And plan a vacation time for that week. I did get a personal reflection from doing it the best we could. I am glad we begun to do them, now to play a lower key to our customary holiday's. Thanksgiving is a good way to that the Lord for His provisions and not participate in sports events or shopping sprees. We have cHanukah coming up Nightfall Dec 1 which technically is Dec. 2 to Dec. 10 at nightfall. we are trying to opt out of ChristMas because of the pagan overtones. this is not easy with family. But the third weekend Jan we have constructed a family sharing time where we give our homemade gifts to one another. That has seemed to be appease them. Least it worked last year. This is a hard tradition to let go of but I was convicted by these two scriptures. Deut. 12:29-32 (if & when you chose to read this passage, read each word slowly to get the real meaning) the second one was Jeremiah 10: 2-5 which referred to a tree. this is hard for me because I thought it was nothing and I loved decorating a tree, I do not worship it, but praying about this one also.
Even though all these days come and go each on is the one the Lord made for my day, a day to grow closer to Him and a day to rejoice in what He is doing. Every trial brings us closer & every blessing encourages us to go another day. Thank you Lord God for loving me to bring all this together for my character renewal.
Here are the copied writing of the scripture mentioned;
Deuteronomy 12:29-32 (NKJV)
29 “When the Lord your God cuts off from before you the nations which you go to dispossess, and you displace them and dwell in their land, 30 take heed to yourself that you are not ensnared to follow them, after they are destroyed from before you, and that you do not inquire after their gods, saying, ‘How did these nations serve their gods? I also will do likewise.’ 31 You shall not worship the Lord your God in that way; for every abomination to the Lord which He hates they have done to their gods; for they burn even their sons and daughters in the fire to their gods.
32 “Whatever I command you, be careful to observe it; you shall not add to it nor take away from it.
Deuteronomy 12:29-32 New Century Version (NCV)
29 You will enter the land and take it away from the nations that the Lord your God will destroy ahead of you. When you force them out and live in their land, 30 they will be destroyed for you, but be careful not to be trapped by asking about their gods. Don’t say, “How do these nations worship? I will do the same.” 31 Don’t worship the Lord your God that way, because the Lord hates the evil ways they worship their gods. They even burn their sons and daughters as sacrifices to their gods!
32 Be sure to do everything I have commanded you. Do not add anything to it, and do not take anything away from it.
Jeremiah 10:2-5 New King James Version (NKJV)
2 Thus says the Lord:“Do not learn the way of the Gentiles;
Do not be dismayed at the signs of heaven,
For the Gentiles are dismayed at them.
3 For the customs of the peoples are futile;
For one cuts a tree from the forest,
The work of the hands of the workman, with the ax.
4 They decorate it with silver and gold;
They fasten it with nails and hammers
So that it will not topple.
5 They are upright, like a palm tree,
And they cannot speak;
They must be carried,
Because they cannot go by themselves.
Do not be afraid of them,
For they cannot do evil,
Nor can they do any good.”
