Hi everyone. Have a few words before going to sleep tonight.
The weather has been scorching hot for our neck of the woods, past two days it has been in the high 80's. For a 60's girl that is over 20 degrees too hot. Today it was 88. Tomorrow it is suppose to be 92. AND we will be out in it. We will be watching Hot Air Balloon's take off in the morning grabbing some lunch, then listing to an outdoor Christian concert. It was what My Hubby wanted to do as a birthday outing since his was during the week. We will be taking muffin too. if you can pray for a cool breeze to keep my cool I would appreciate it. I do not do heat well. Jim on the other hand does heat & cold both equally well. It should be a good day if I do not fatigue out due to heat. I was to have good energy for his day.
After the concert we are meeting Ginger & her husband for dinner, Jim knows this, but he does not know 3 more of our friends will be joining us to share in celebrating his turning 60.
I just was enlightened on some history. I was reading on why God passes judgments on country. in a very clear way it was put that it was mainly because of HIS Son's bride. The Church. When our witness is hindered and we are being lead astray of being a pure Bride. God puts a stop to it to protect Christ's Bride.
During the lesson I was informed of some things in history. I learnt about the Corporation Act. in 1661 in Great Britain(repealed in 1828). which lead to the Five Mile Act; (all surrounding the Church of England)
Wikipedia says it better :The Corporation Act (1661) - This first of the four statutes which made up the Clarendon Code required all municipal officials to take Anglican communion, and formally reject the Solemn League and Covenant of 1643. The effect of this act was to exclude nonconformists from public office. This legislation was rescinded in 1828.
The Act of Uniformity 1662 - This second statute made use of the Book of Common Prayer compulsory in religious service. Upwards of 2000 clergy refused to comply with this act, and were forced to resign their livings.
The Conventicle Act (1664) - This act forbade conventicles (a meeting for unauthorized worship) of more than 5 people who were not members of the same household. The purpose was to prevent dissenting religious groups from meeting.
The Five Mile Act (1665) - This final act of the Clarendon Code was aimed at Nonconformist ministers, who were forbidden from coming within five miles of incorporated towns or the place of their former livings. They were also forbidden to teach in schools. This act was not rescinded until 1812.
Anyways these rules by the government stopped the freedom of evangelist, If I read it right. the Witness of the Bride was being hindered. later resulting in God withholding his hand of protection for a country wo evangelized the world. Later resulting in London being on fire 1666 and the plague 1665-1666. The lesson I was reading basically was making a point that God's judgement follows a hindering of Christ's Bride to do what she was called to do.
Anyways this was just something I did not have details on in my head. I knew that there was oppression but did not know about the decrees. so posting this incase you did not know either. America was blessed when she was sending missionaries by the swarms everywhere in the world.
ok a history lesson shared.
Be Blessed and Be a Blessing.
