SCALLOPPED CABBAGE & HAM
amounts comparable to your family needs
Dice or shred cabbage Dice or piece ham Dice 1 small onion Stick of Butter 3T dried dill weed Flour (your choice) Milk or half & half 2T dried onions 2 T Turmeric Salt & Pepper Oil spray Tin foil
In glass baking dish (I use a rectangle or square) spray oil or coat with extra butter if no spray oil)
In baking dish Layer 1: 1/3 of cabbage, onion, 1T dill, dabs of 1/3rd of butter & sprinkle with flour, top with 1/2 ham.
Layer 2: Repeat layers using the rest of the ham.
Layer 3: using the rest of ingredients layer cabbage, onions, 1 T dill & butter.
Pour gently milk all over, to fill baking dish to 1/2 full.
Top with dried onions & turmeric, Salt & Pepper to taste
cover with foil
Bake at 325" for 45 mins (when cabbage is soft enough for fork to pierce.)
