This was written from a very dear friend and Pastor|
It is called " THROUGH IT ALL" Part1.
It 's easy to give up and quit on God, stop going to church, refuse to read your bible, and never pray again. But why would any true believer take such drastic measures? Most likely due to hurt, disappointment, discouragement, unanswered prayers, offense, or simply overwhelming circumstances. Sure, there will come times in our life when it seems like all hell breaks loose. It's not that one thing goes wrong, but more like everything that could go wrong, does go wrong. Nothing you do seems to fix it. Whichever way you turn for help, you keep coming up empty-handed. There doesn't appear to be any light at the end of your tunnel. Your lab tests continue to be unfavorable. Your health doesn't appear to be improving. Your financial situation isn't getting any better and yet the bills have to be paid.
How many people have found themselves in any one of these kinds of situations this year in light of all that has happened with job losses, bankruptcies, economic decline, an uncertain future of our nation, and of course the fear pandemic of covid 19? As if to say, that people don't already have enough on their plates to deal with every day. BUT there is GOD, HIS WORD of PROMISE, the person and power of the HOLY SPIRIT, and of course the SON of GOD. It's good to remind ourselves that we're on the winning side; that truth WILL prevail, and that circumstances are subject to the WORD of GOD. In the 1970s there arose a prominent contemporary gospel singer and songwriter by the name of Andrae' Crouch. I believe one of his popular songs that still rings in the hearts and minds of those of us who are old enough to remember was, "Through it all." Part of the lyrics to this song follows:" Through it all, through it all, I've learned to trust in Jesus,
I've learned to trust in GOD. Through it all, through it all, I've learned to depend upon HIS WORD. I thank GOD for the mountains, I thank HIM for the valleys, I thank HIM for the storms HE'S brought me through. For if I'd never had a problem, I wouldn't know GOD could solve them, I'd never know what FAITH in GOD could do. This is interesting to point out that the same sun, which melts wax ALSO hardens clay. The outcome is determined by the material that is used. WHY DO I BRING THIS UP? Because the storms of life and what we have to face on a day-to-day basis, really reveal what we actually believe. It's not just what we say that defines us, rather what we do and how we respond in any given situation that we find ourselves in. Please don't misunderstand me -I'm not of those who believe that GOD is constantly unleashing all hell upon his children in hope of strengthening their faith. FOR the SCRIPURE is very clear. (READ James1:13,14 KIV).
