Very interesting theory from T.W. Tramm - IN THE BOOK of Genesis, Pharaoh has a dream about seven fat cows being swallowed up by seven gaunt cows (Gen. 41:1–4).
The dream is later interpreted by a young Hebrew, Joseph, who explains to Pharaoh that God is showing him what is about to happen. The seven fat cows represent seven years of plenty, while the seven gaunt cows represent seven years of famine so terrible the years of plenty will be forgotten (vv. 17–32).
Understanding that God never changes, and that He repeats signs and symbols, it is interesting that seven years ago, in 2014, two cows with “7s” on their heads appeared in the news.
The first cow made news on September 25, corresponding to the biblical date Tishrei 1, or Feast of Trumpets. The cow was black in color and had a large formal appearing “7” on its head.
The second cow, featured on a popular religious program, was born on the same Feast of Trumpets. However, this cow was red in color and had a small informal, or slapdash appearing, “7” on its head.
In prophecy circles, the cows with “7s” were regarded as a modern-day version of the sign given to Pharaoh—a warning from God to a Gentile nation about seven years of plenty followed by seven years of famine.
The uncanny details around the 2014 cows support this view. It is remarkable to consider that . . .
• It could have been any type of animal born with a number on its coat—a dog or a horse—yet it was a cow, the same animal in Pharaoh’s dream.
• It could have been any given number on the cows—a “1” or a “2”—yet it was a “7,” God’s signature number of completion, indicating a full cycle of time, i.e. a week or seven-year period (Gen. 2:1–3; Lev. 25; Dan. 9:24–27).
• It could have been one cow with a “7,” yet it was two cows, denoting two seven-year periods.
• The cows denoting two seven-year periods could have made news in any year, yet it was 2014, pointing to subsequent years 2021 and 2028. This is significant because 2021 and 2028 represent the calculated upper limit of the fig-tree generation, the one Jesus says will see all the end-times events come to pass (Matt. 24:32–34).
• The cows with “7s” could have appeared on any calendar day, yet both appeared on the biblical Feast of Trumpets, the day on which the trumpet is sounded as a reminder or wakeup call (Lev. 23:23, 24).
• The numbers could have appeared anywhere on the cows’ bodies, yet both appeared on the forehead or face, an obvious, or barefaced, sign.
• The cows could have been born any color, yet the cow with the large formal “7” on its head was black, connoting “in the black” financial conditions. The cow with the sparse “7” on its head was red, connoting scarcity, or “in the red” financial conditions. Also, in Scripture, a red cow symbolizes purification, or the purging of sins (Num. 19:1–10). The seven years of famine foreshadowed by the red cow will be a time of purging and purification for Israel (Zech. 13:9).
• The cows could have been born in any order, yet the cow connoting prosperity was born first, while the cow connoting scarcity was born second, matching the biblical pattern of seven years of prosperity followed by seven years of famine.
The many correspondences suggest the 2014 cow signs were indeed patterned after Pharaoh’s dream of seven fat and lean cows and should be understood as a prophetic warning from God.
While some would consider it absurd that cows with “7s” on their heads could be a sign from the Lord, keep in mind that God uses the foolish things to confound the wise (1 Cor. 1:27). Moreover, He frequently uses animals in unconventional ways to achieve His purposes (Num. 22:21-39; Matt. 17:27; Jonah. 1:17).
CUTOFF DATE: TWO SCENARIOS
Counting seven years from when the cow signs appeared, Tishrei 1, 2014, we arrive at Tishrei 1, 2021 for a potential end of the seven years of prosperity.
Another possibility is that the cow signs denote seven-year periods beginning at Nisan, the start of the biblical year (Ex. 12: 1–3). If the cows appearing in fall 2014 were pointing to consecutive seven-year periods beginning the following Nisan, the seven years of plenty could begin at Nisan 2015 and end at Nisan 2022.
The Nisan 1 start time is supported by a striking concurrence on this date in 2015. In a rare coincidence, the first day of the biblical year, Nisan 1, landed on the vernal equinox, the first day of spring. Also, the same date saw a total solar eclipse at the northernmost tip of the globe. A total solar eclipse at the North Pole on the first day of spring is said to occur only once every 100,000 years, making it a one-of-a-kind event as Scripture indicates the earth is only about 6,000 years old.
Significantly, Jewish tradition holds that this same configuration, Nisan 1 coinciding with the spring equinox, represents the original position of the luminaries when the Lord first created them and set them in motion. Thus, the total solar eclipse on the biblical New Year in 2015 could be seen as a “recalibration” of God’s cosmic clock to mark the beginning of an important time.
CONCLUSION
If the Nisan reckoning is correct, the seven years of plenty could end as late as Nisan 2022. However, the bottom line for prophecy watchers is this: Regardless of whether the seven years end in fall 2021 or spring 2022, the last harvest season to occur within this period of abundance is summer 2021. This is crucial because, according to Scripture, Jesus will return to “harvest” the earth at a time when people have plenty to eat and drink (Matt. 24:37–39; Luke 17:28–30).
Thus, if our reading of the cow signs is correct, summer 2021 is a likely time for a shocking event that will initiate the transition from feast to famine.

3. Cow signs in prophetic news:
4. Significantly, the black cow with the large “7” was named Benjamin. In the Bible, Benjamin is the favorite brother of Joseph, the Hebrew who interpreted pharaoh’s dream of the seven cows (Gen. 41:14–32). Benjamin’s mother, Rachel, who died after giving birth to him due to a difficult delivery, originally named her son Ben-Oni, which means “Son of My Trouble.” This is noteworthy because the time of Jacob’s Trouble, the seven-year Tribulation, is characterized as a time of birth pains and delivery for Israel: “Ask now, and see: Can a male give birth? Why then do I see every man with his hands on his stomach like a woman in labor and every face turned pale? How awful that day will be! There will be none like it! It will be a time of trouble for Jacob, but he will be delivered out of it” (Jer. 30:6, 7).
5. It is interesting that the “7” on the second (red) cow has an appearance of being cut off, or shortened. Scripture says the tribulation period will be shortened for the sake of the elect (Matt. 24:22).
6. In the Fig-Tree Parable, Jesus says the generation who sees Israel become a nation again will see all the end-time events come to pass (Matt. 24:32–34). Scripture defines the upper limit of a human lifespan as 80 years (Ps. 90:10). Counting 80 years from 1948, we arrive at 2028. Subtracting 7 years for the tribulation period, the calculated start point of the Tribulation is 2021.

8. Based on rabbinic tradition, the modern Jewish calendar reckons years from the first day of the seventh month, Tishrei. However, in the Bible, God instructs Israel to count years from the first month, Nisan (Ex. 12:1–3). Nowhere in Scripture does the Lord amend or qualify His command to count the years from Nisan. Therefore, regardless of rabbinic tradition or how years were reckoned before Israel became a nation, from the time of the Exodus forward, years are to be reckoned from the spring.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE: No one knows the day of Jesus’ return (Matt. 24:36). However, Scripture says those who are watching will see the day approaching and will not be surprised when it arrives (Heb. 10:25; 1 Thess. 5:4). A convergence of biblical signs and timelines indicates the day is near (Luke 21:28). If you want to escape the indescribable horror of the Tribulation period, call on the name of Jesus, and believe that He is the Son of God who died for your sins and was raised from the dead (Rom. 10:13). Do it today. Time is running out
